We are aware there will be delays in the postal system at this time, water bills might be affected since part of our community is on a rural route. We have made efforts to correct the non-PO Box to Clarinda zip code as some of the non-PO Box was returned due to the Shambaugh zip code, we are in hopes that this will get mail quicker to residents.
Due to the mail delay, there might be a surge of notices from our department. We still stand by if you send checks in the mail, if they are postmarked before the 10th of each month, late fees are removed. First notices will still be sent out to customers, even if you have made a payment on your end, first notices are to notify that we have not received payment at the time of payments due. Notices are sent on the 10th of each month or the following dates after if the 10th falls on a weekend. If you DO NOT receive your water bill before the 10th of each month, due to the delay. It is your responsibility to contact our office at 712-542-5535, we will be happy to verbally tell your the amount due and will resend another bill as confirmation. The city of Shambaugh offers a convenient locked drop-off box, located at city hall. We do not accept debit or credit cards, all other forms of payment we accept, cash, check, and money order.
