The city of Shambaugh currently takes 3 forms of payment; cash, cashier check or check. We are looking into the possibility of EBPP platform of NeXT BillPay. NeXT BillPay provided an easy-to-use system for community members, however there is a caveat. There is a proposed fee schedule that will be passed to customer base. The following is the proposed fee schedule.
These fees are passed to community members. Therefore, if your water bill is the base pay of $77.80 and you pay online you will be subjected to the fee schedule. Your total bill will be $80.30 for a credit card transaction. The council is requesting input from our community members, if they would like this service. This service is extra cost to the Town of Shambaugh; therefore, the community input is vital. Please fill out the survey below. Thank you for submission to this survey, the Town of Shambaugh is grateful for your input.

Considering I never know if USPS will actually deliver my payment and considering the cost of late fees, I would happily pay the $2 to know my water/sewer would actually get paid without question. This year alone, 3 of my payments never arrived so I've already paid enough in late fees to justify these transaction.

would there not also be a fee to the town which would be passed along to users?

Good question, the service to the Town of Shambaugh is an extra service that the town would have for the community. The infrastructure to have in place, does indeed would cost Shambaugh extra funds. How the council wants to handle that would be an interest to the community. I highly suggest anyone who may have concerns or like to way out pros and cons to come to council meetings, first Monday of each month.
